Delta Received Leadership-Level Scoring from CDP - Highlighting Its Efforts on Climate Change
2019 CDP Climate Change analysis ranks Delta a Leading Enterprise (A-). Following the 2014, 2016, and 2017 leadership-level (A / A-) scoring lists, Delta's efforts on climate change have again been accredited. In 2017, Delta became the first company in Taiwan and the 87th company in the world to be verified by SBTi. It reached the Science-Based Targets (SBTs) for two consecutive years (2018 and 2019), and the use of global renewable energy exceeded 20%. Also, Delta actively introduced Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to assess the risks and opportunities caused by climate change to the Company.
In 2017, TCFD was introduced and Delta became the first TCFD supporter in the technology manufacturing industry. It explored the possible path of climate change impacts and transformation risks and simulated the impacts of climate change on corporate earnings in the unit of business groups. Besides, Delta itself has also responded to the low-carbon economy. In 2018, Delta joined the global initiative EV100, encouraging the use of electric vehicles including plug-in hybrid vehicles and installing charging stations in main factories. In 2019, the installation of charging stations in Delta's main factories such as Taipei, Zhongli, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Tainan was completed, which employees can use for free. CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project) established an environmental information assessment system through questionnaire surveys. By the beginning of 2020, more than 8,400 companies responded, affecting an investment of more than US$96 trillion.
Delta received leadership-level scoring from CDP - highlighting its efforts on climate change.
